Guitar Shred – Yngwie Malmsteen Interview
May 9, 2008
Hey all you shred guitar fans, check out the new issue of Guitar World. There is a great interview with Yngwie Malmsteen and a killer poster to go along with it. He seems to be grateful for what he has, it was nice to read. Check it out.

A lot of people give Yngwie tons of shit about being “all speed and no feeling.” Bollocks!! If people actually paid attention to his music, they would hear the most heart-touching melodies ever.
I’m willing to argue that shred guitar has as much, or more, feeling and emotions than your slower guitar.
In closing, it’s not about how many notes you play that count; it’s about making all those notes count.

I’ve noticed you’ve mentioned Ritchie Blackmore! Hell Yeah! Really over looked when it comes to Solos. Especially as he was the first to ‘Shred’ its weird thinking while all that was happening you had The Beatles and Cream [Also two great bands] But Blackmores was very unique for his time.
